Here are some of the projects we have been involved in

FDHG AREA

The Two Moors Heritage Trail is in the area between Flitwick and Flitton but we have an interest in heritage of the wider area of surrounding villages.

The launch of the new Flit Valley Walk between Westoning and Silsoe is something we have been involved in.  And more recently we have contributed time to the rebuilding of the Sexton’s Hut behind Maulden parish church.

Two Moors Heritage Trail

This gentle 5 mile walk is a good introduction to the landscape of the area. The route passes several sites of interest for their wildlife or history.

Flitton Moor

Flitton Moor is a Local Nature Reserve managed by Central Bedfordshire Council. It is a complex of ditches, ponds, grassland with wildflowers, and tree belts, including a small osier bed.

THE FLIT VALLEY DISCOVERY CENTRE

From old tractor shed to invaluable shelter, FDHG breathed new life into this key site, which would later be renamed after local man Jack Crawley.

THE BEAUMONT TREE

The Beaumont Tree was an ancient Elm that stood on the Parish Boundary between Silsoe and Flitton, from which a local legend arose.
